An overlap can reduce draft preparation risk. It cannot confirm a publisher’s fee, authority or permission to submit.
First establish which documents apply
Check the exact title, ISSN, article type, language and submission channel. Compare the current author guide, submission checklist and linked template, and record the date checked. A generic checklist or a sample published article may not define the rule for your manuscript.
Prefer a dated instruction that expressly supersedes older guidance, or a current instruction for the relevant article type. A recent retrieval date does not make an undated document authoritative. When documents disagree without a clear governing statement, keep the disagreement visible rather than inventing a publisher rule.
Use an overlap for draft preparation where possible
Suppose one page permits 2,000–10,000 words and another asks for 5,000–10,000 including references. A draft of 5,000–10,000 words including references can fit both. If a template caps an abstract at 200 words and the webpage caps it at 250, staying within 200 can satisfy both limits.
These are preparation choices, not proof that the publisher has reconciled its documents. Check what is included in the word count. If a shorter limit would omit essential reporting, obtain clarification rather than weakening the manuscript. Where styles, language requirements or authorship eligibility conflict, keep final formatting provisional.
Know which questions an overlap cannot answer
A word-limit overlap cannot establish the authorized publisher domain, resolve different fee amounts or decide who funds a charge before review. An ISSN record identifies a serial; it does not authorize every website using its title. Historical archives do not by themselves confirm a current submission or billing channel.
Two email addresses on one submission page may be alternatives rather than conflicting routes. Check how the page presents them, then confirm the preferred channel. Obtain current instructions through an independently established publisher contact when authority or continuity is uncertain. Do not submit or rely on disputed payment instructions while those questions remain unresolved.
Turn the findings into an agreed next step
Our journal profiles separate established facts, preparation guidance and limits of the review. A pending profile remains outside the public sitemap until the missing evidence is resolved; that status does not itself mean a journal is fraudulent.
Send the title, abstract, intended article type and institutional requirements for a consultation. We can discuss the suitable targets and permitted support. All authors should approve the manuscript, and the journal controls editorial decisions. No payment to PublicationHelp is required before journal acceptance.
Your next-step checklist
- Exact title, ISSN and article type checked
- Current guide, checklist and template compared
- Governing statement or superseding date identified if available
- Draft choices labelled as recommendations
- Fee responsibility and authorized channel confirmed
- Authors approve the manuscript and submission plan
